To review the VPN provided by Namecheap is good, we must first understand what is a VPN?
VPN or Virtual Private Network was created to connect a private network between devices via the Internet (create a virtual space for you to operate when online). VPN is used to transmit data securely and anonymously over the internet. VPNs work by hiding a user’s IP address and encrypting data so that it can only be read by authorized recipients. VPNs can be used to access geo-restricted websites, protecting your browsing from “prying” on public Wi-Fi by setting up a virtual private network for you.
Currently on the market there are many companies that offer cheap and high-performance VPNs. One of the candidates we want to mention is Namcheap VPN. This new service from Namecheap has been around for a few years, but it already has established a lot of big customers.

NAMECHEAP VPN IS VERY EASY TO USE
Some of the VPNs on the market require you to understand encryption algorithms and different VPN protocols. Otherwise you have to dig through the huge list of VPN servers to decide which one to use, Namecheap VPN is simple to use and user-friendly. Launch it, click the big red Connect button and get on with your time. Too easy to use Namecheap VPN, right?
USABILITY OF VPN NAMECHEAP
Namecheap VPN is compatible with all leading platforms on the market today: Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Moreover Namecheap VPN also supports Routers. In addition, the company offers unlimited variety of logins, so you can connect as many devices as you want with just one account.
You can configure Namecheap VPN on your router through OpenVPN, as long as your router supports OpenVPN files.
It’s easy to download Namecheap VPN – after starting with a trial or premium plan, Namecheap VPN will notify you to download the version that’s right for you. Or show you how to manually set up their service on the device you have
Installing Namecheap VPN is also very quick and simple. Its user interface is easy to understand to navigate, Namecheap VPN offers multiple server locations for you to choose from at the touch of a button. Very cool and easy to use, isn’t it!
There is a live and updated “ping time” corresponding to each server location, which shows the time it takes to communicate with each server. This gives you the option to connect to the fastest VPN server you want. Or, simply click “Connect VPN” and Namecheap VPN will automatically connect your device to the fastest server available.
When you click the drop-down menu next to each server location, you’ll see additional options to choose a more specific city location – for example, in the US, you can select multiple cities, such as Las Vegas, Boston, Seattle, etc.
Namecheap opens at startup on all devices and has an option to automatically connect as soon as the app is launched. You can also change the VPN protocol you want to connect to like Open VPN or IKEv2
NAMECHEAP VPN FOR WINDOWS OS
If we talk about the Windows application that Namecheap offers, it is quite simple and easy to use. This feature is neatly designed, with an intuitive and clear interface.
The main screen has a large “Connect” button to connect the server location. There are 2 ways that you can connect to the server. The first way is for you to let the application automatically connect you to the “best” server location that Namecheap recommends. Option 2 is that you manually select the location by scrolling through the list or use the search tab to enter the location you prefer:
The full server location menu shows a list of available countries with a drop-down menu revealing available cities for each country. Besides the server location, you can see the current ping and download speed. This makes choosing the best and fastest server at any given time really easy.
In the settings you can change the VPN protocols between IKEv2 and OpenVPN UPD and OpenVPN TCP. In addition, you can enable or disable other features like kill switch, auto connect and scramble feature also very easily.
Overall, Namecheap VPN Windows is super easy to use with a simple, beautiful interface and high performance. Literally, it never takes more than 5 seconds to connect to any VPN server you desire. I also don’t face any random disconnections when connecting to servers of my choice.
NAMECHEAP VPN WITH MAC
The same goes for the Mac operating system, as you can use this VPN service without any problems. The application looks and works just like the Windows operating system, with the same attractive, easy-to-see and easy-to-use design.
The server selection screen is similar, with a detailed overview of locations, pings, and download speeds per location. The Mac app’s default protocol is IKEv2, you can change this to OpenVPN if you want.
In terms of connectivity, the Mac app is extremely efficient and establishes connections to the selected VPN location with outstanding speed.
NAMECHEAP VPN FOR LINUX
Namecheap VPN doesn’t have a dedicated Linux app, but the company supports the OS through manual configuration using OpenVPN. Details you are interested in can see the installation and usage instructions for the Linux platform here
NAMECHEAP VPN FOR ANDROID
Namecheap VPN works on Android app quite well as it offers exclusive world map feature which you can easily zoom in whenever you want. It still features the standard scrolling list drop-down menu allowing you to choose the best server locations. When signed in to the Android app, you can enable or disable the reconnect option through the settings panel. At the time of writing this Namecheap VPN review it has a 4.3 star rating on the Google Play Store.
NAMECHEAP VPN FOR IOS
Review Namecheap VPN With iOS app. Once opened and logged in, you will see a beautifully designed user interface with a prominent world map. You can easily connect to any country (server) and disconnect at any time. The app also gives you a nice list of servers, allowing you to see their country of origin and ping values. You can also set whether to protect mobile networks and/or Wi-Fi networks. You can also create a list of trusted and blacklisted Wi-Fi networks, so you can easily use Namecheap VPN to automatically protect you in different situations. All in all, the application is beautifully designed and simple, and it is suitable for even the most demanding people.
SAFE VPN PROTOCOL AND STRONG ENCRYPTION
Namecheap VPN doesn’t cut back on features when it comes to protecting your data. It uses industry standard AES-256 encryption and supports both OpenVPN and IKEv2 VPN protocols (as noted above). These two VPN protocols now provide strong security and high performance. You can see the available protocols in the settings of Namecheap VPN:
Apart from this, Namecheap VPN also includes a kill switch to keep your data from leaking on the internet if the connection to the VPN fails for some reason.
NO IP ADDRESSES, DNS AND WEBRTC LEAKS?
Namecheap VPN is a very safe and secure leak-free service. The service does not reveal your actual whereabouts, be it IP, DNS or WebRTC information. I tested Namecheap VPN’s leak protection through ipleak.net, dnsleaktest.com and ip8.com. As a result I didn’t experience any leakage problems on those tests
Here are the screenshots how I tested it:
IP LEAK TEST:
I have tested and connected to servers in Australia, the service is not showing my real IP address online (can you see the picture below):
DNS LEAK TEST:
The same result happened for the DNS leak test I did on dnsleaktest.com:
WEBRTC LEAK TEST:
Finally tested its WebRTC leak protection feature when doing on ip8.com-website WebRTC leak test and got very desirable results:
SPEED OF NAMECHEAP VPN
One thing I can confirm is that Namecheap VPN is very fast. I didn’t expect this VPN to be incredibly fast, really amazed at how it works.
I used a 30 Mbps base internet connection and deployed on speedtest.net. I tested this on 3 separate server locations US, UK and Canada.
Here are the results:
The US server hit 21.95 Mbps download and 23.47 upload speeds on my 30 Mbps internet connection. This is really unexpected!
Next, for a UK server it’s 21.68 Mbps, although the ping is pretty high. A pretty good result:
Finally, servers in Canada continue to maintain similar fast speeds in the two regions above, the same number in the UK is 21.86 Mbps when downloading:
In summary, with the above test results, it can be said that Namecheap is providing a cheap VPN service with a quality that is beyond expectations.
UNLIMITED NUMBER OF SIMULTANEOUS CONNECTIONS
This can be said to be a state-of-the-art weapon of Namecheap VPN to compete with competitors in the same industry.
If you are going to use your Namecheap VPN in a household or small company with a lot of internet users/streaming enthusiasts then Namecheap VPN can fulfill that requirement. Most VPNs on the market only limit you to 5 or 6 simultaneous connections, which is quite limiting when many people want to connect through the VPN
Note: In the past, there was some controversy about the number of simultaneous connections FastVPN can support in media or articles. Some reports claim that the service is limited to 5 concurrent connections. We have reconfirmed with Namecheap VPN support. They assure us that you have an unlimited number of simultaneous connections,
